Maayke Botman holds an MA in American Studies from Utrecht University with a focus on African American Culture. She is programme advisor at the Oranje Fonds in the field of Social Justice for the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom. She is also a board member of the Bijlmer Parktheater and the Rutu Foundation for indigenous and multilingual education.
